ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Chemistry Postgraduate Programme (PPG-Chemistry) at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) is one of the most traditional and established in the country, with over 55 years of activity.
The programme's mission is: To prepare highly qualified human resources in chemistry to address scientific, technological, and social challenges through innovative and excellent teaching, research, and outreach.
PPG-Chemistry offers students a multicultural environment with a strong international focus and projects aimed at important and contemporary scientific and technological issues, helping students develop their interpersonal and professional skills.
In recent years, the programme has made significant achievements in entrepreneurship and technological innovation, contributing to economic and social development through the creation of technology-based companies, patent filings, grants, and licensing both nationally and internationally, thereby maintaining strong integration with society and the employment sector.
The programme also has a strong focus on interaction with the regional community through various outreach programmes, scientific dissemination, and training courses, contributing to regional development and reducing inequalities, thus reinforcing its social mission.
